Rockford Fosgate T1650 S Review

Does the Rockford Fosgate T1650 S Deliver?

The Rockford Fosgate T1650 S is a speaker system for people who don’t want to have to listen to sub-par sound in their car. The cones are made from polypropylene/carbon fiber that is both highly responsive and extremely durable. The surround is made from Santoprene to further ensure durability.

The 1-inch tweeter makes it possible to catch all the high notes and avoid them being drowned out by the bass. You can adjust the tweeter levels and make use of the axis switching to ensure that you can customize your sound based on the interior of your car.

Features

This is a complete speaker system that makes use of the latest in technology to outplay its rivals. The Vast tech used in joining the Santoprene and the cone allows for more surface area to be left exposed. The result is more area to let more sound out.

The Santoprene is an addition that will come in especially useful if you live in an area where your car is exposed to different temperature extremes. This material looks and feels like rubber but is a lot more flexible.

When rubber is exposed to different temperatures, it either expands or contracts. Over time it loses its ability to return to normal and starts to crack and get brittle. Santoprene is a lot hardier and will last a lot longer.

The cones are made of a compound of polypropylene and carbon that is extremely strong and resistant to wear. Play your strongest beats on these with confidence.

Drawbacks

This is not the biggest sound system in the world, and some might be disappointed that the woofers are only 6 and a half inches in diameter. If you are a real enthusiast, you would probably prefer a bit more in terms of size.

That said, the speakers may be smaller, but no one seems to have told them that – the sound quality is insane and will be plenty loud enough for most uses. Let’s be honest here unless you plan to broadcast the signal to a stadium full of people, how big do those woofers really need to be?

Final Verdict

This is a great set for most users. Will it pass muster at a convention? Not really – it is a simple set designed to help you enjoy your music – it won’t blast you out of your seat. That said, it is still going to make a lot of noise – perfect for letting your mates know that you are on your way.

So, not a professional model, but one that is special enough to give you a glimpse into that world.
